Tree of Life Charter School Open House

Tree of Life Charter School will hold Open House on Wednesday, March 24th from 5:30-7 PM. Using the Montessori educational method, the school's learning environment serves children ages 5 through 13 in classrooms specially prepared with beautiful hands-on learning materials. Children of various ages and abilities work together in a learning community that fosters collaboration and peer teaching. Independent study is also available to a limited number of students.
Montessori education emphasizes cooperation, personal responsibility, and respect. Its curriculum guides and inspires students to explore the wonders of the universe, the development of human civilizations, and artistic expression. Tree of Life has received recognition for its incorporation of the arts, drama, dance, and music in implementation of its curriculum. In addition, it is a Green School that uses only non-toxic biodegradable cleaners. Its organic gardens and play yard are free of chemical pesticides and herbicides. Recycling, composting, and using reusable containers are another important part of its environmental education curriculum.
Tree of Life is chartered through Ukiah Unified and will be starting its 11th year as a free, public, Montessori school. There are limited openings available for the 2010-11 school year and the school is holding its final open enrollment period during the month of March. Its campus is located at the north end of Redwood Empire Fairgrounds at 241 Ford Rd. in Ukiah. Please call 462-0913 for more information.

From our Charter:

“Like parents everywhere,
we care about our children,
want what’s best for them,
and know that their experience in school
can have a great impact on the quality of their life.

We want them to have an education
that is worthy of their beauty and potential.

We want them in a place where they are known,
not as faces in a crowd,
but individually and personally.

We want them in a school where they receive
direct, high-quality attention,
where their actual needs are met,
where their potential is being
realized.”
