Programming runs from 9:00am-3:00pm. Before care starts at 8:00am and aftercare is open until 5:00pm. This is shorter day than our school year. Please be aware that you must not drop off early or pick up late. Staffing is limited and it is important to keep within this schedule. Students LOVE this program, so there are not usually behavior issues, but stellar behavior is expected in this program for safety reasons.

Juneteenth
Please note, there is NO Summer Academy today due to the federal holiday.
Juneteenth was made a federal holiday in 2021 to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States, specifically the day when Union Army General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, to announce that they were free. This act acknowledged a significant event in US history and recognized the ongoing fight for racial equality and justice.

Last day of school
Thursday is also our last day of school! We are hosting a Water Day celebration! We have two water slides (one for youngers and one for older), reuseable water ballons, a water obstacle course, bubbles, and more! Please send your child prepared: wear a swimsuit, bring a towel, hat, and water bottle. Sandals and flip flops are allowed for this day only! Bring a pen for signing yearbooks. We are still accepting donations to cover the cost of the yearbooks! Thank you to those who have already donated. Donate here on Parent Square under the payments button in the app or on the right side of your computer screen.
As usual, we have before care starting at 7:30 AM and ending at 5:30 PM. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

End of year potluck
Our Bridging Ceremony is coming up on Wednesday, June 4 at 5:30! Performances start at 6:15. This is an all-school potluck style dinner, Bridging Ceremony for kindergarteners and 6th graders, honoring our 8th graders, and performances by all classes, and an all-school song. What is a Bridging Ceremony? The Bridging Ceremony is symbolic of the students entering the next plane of development as Maria Montessori defined the stages of human development. Here is a link if you want to read more!
What are the 4 Montessori planes of development?
Our 8th graders are not moving to another plane of development, but they are moving on to high school next year! They will be having a separate graduation celebration on Saturday, June 7. We will be recognizing their hard work and achievements at that time.
